World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.
item upgrades of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all its upgraded advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.
It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is restricted to a lower level). Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.
When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can evaluate the level of an item. It's an excellent gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it is capable of causing. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor can be done using the item level.
The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete item description, including its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are various theories on how the item level calculation is carried out. item upgrade suggests that the level of an item is calculated by a formula that calculates how valuable an item's stats actually are. It takes into consideration that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets increase the item's value. This can result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is usually very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.
However, this is not the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, because the level of the region the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item are a major component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players to not restrict themselves to a particular weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stat mods on a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's skill.
Item upgrades add to that by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.
Another method to alter the stats on an item is through affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items additional damage or other special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by adding a name.
All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other options for rerolling.
In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which stats to be kept on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the specified range, unless it is an exclusive item or the result of a God roll from a raid boss.
This is another aspect that could be changed by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to increase. As with the base equipment, it will have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player boosts the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves and is thus more beneficial in the early game than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain.
Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading that increase with each level of the item. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons can be created or spawned by using the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) for a further +40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Furthermore there are certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item if it is not successful.
The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading the item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..
The Luck of an item can affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has an overall success rate of 25 percent, and each item that has Luck increases this chance by 5%.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects could be obscured by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
