Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item can be improved through upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment results in a linear increase in a given stat.
Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item varies with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. In addition, many items can be reforged to boost their stats even more.
There are items that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The primary method to upgrade equipment is by making use of upgrade components which are items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and many require a certain level of upgrade. upgrade item offer specific bonuses, while other components offer general bonuses.
There are a variety of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments can be placed in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than those that are equipment type specific. Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. item upgrader will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. If you don't have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will say Blocked.
The number of upgrade components needed for a given item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The price of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can lower the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a seller or trading them with other players.
Most weapons can be improved by adding a prefix, such as a rune or an insignia, and others can be upgraded by adding a suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item, adding an adjective, for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. There are some exceptions, however. the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any mods.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs can also increase the likelihood of remembering messages by creating a familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph has a set of values it can enhance a stat according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is not the exact amount at which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier as well as the quality of the item that you are admiring.
The majority of upgrade components installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it's not been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.
You can remove the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item within which it is placed, but you can recover the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, so this should not be considered a loss.
When you remove an item after adding a glyph, the shards of that glyph will disappear. You can also put an inscription on your equipment to make it more valuable. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly rather than all at once. This is beneficial for those who take lots of damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes they use on their equipment and weapons, and they can be obtained in a variety of ways such as in mistery boxes or as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Reroll tokens give players a new random affix, which is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items are not listed in the menu of upgrade options, but they are still able to be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to recycle. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. The amount is based on the item's rarity and its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than those with lower levels.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls will roll a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.
Rerolling is a fantastic way to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl will be reduced by the number that it took to reroll it to the final ilvl. This effect is most evident on Diadems and Rings, as they have no other options for raising ilvl.
The Reroll system has been criticized by players as being too expensive and it's more equitable to let players pay for it using money or food items that allows players to modify their build without spending too much time and effort. The developers aren't planning to offer paid rerolls in this stage in the game's development. They are planning to add an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of upgrading the stat. The alternative is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for the stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. Once this is done the new item will retain its iLevel, but will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.
It is crucial to remember that upgrades can be random. In most cases a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are occasions where a higher or more special roll can occur. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item and should you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique type, it will have a chance to achieve an iLevel that is higher.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive, particularly when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on its base iLevel as well as the number of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.
